Obituary of Earl W Leach

E. William  “Bill” Leach passed away on Tuesday September 12,2017 in Uniontown Hospital.  He was born on March 30,1938 in Sellersville, PA the son of Earl H. and Verna(Clymer) Leach. Bill grew up in Lansdale, Pa and while a freshman on the Jr. Varsity at. NPHS, was one of only two football players to be selected to play with the Varsity Squad. He played for 4 years, graduating in 1956. The day after graduation he began his career with Merck Sharp and Dohme, Merck &Co., West Point, and retired in 1993 after 37 years of service. Bill was a veteran of the Army, serving as an electronics technician, Spec. 4, at the base in Manheim, Germany, where he repaired radio equipment in the “Huey” Helicopters Dues in Vietnam. Bill was also an excellent bowler in the North Penn Major leagues for over 30 years, and reached the pinnacle of his career by rolling a perfect game shortly before retiring from the sport. He lived in Marlborough Township from 1961 until 2017 when he moved to Uniontown, PA. HE is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joy M (Buckelew) Leach of Uniontown, PA. HE also leaves a sister Lucille Patterson of S. Carolina, and a brother David Leach, as well as in laws Thomas and Christine Buckelew and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Services are under the direction of the Thomas M Dolfi Funeral Home and will be private. Contributions may be made to “Forgotten Felines” Fermansville, PA or your local SPCA.
