Obituary of Stephen Kezmarsky Jr

He was a member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church.

Stephen E. Kezmarsky Jr age 75 of Uniontown, passed away peacefully on Monday morning August 28,2017 in Westmoreland Regional Hospital with his loving family at his side.

Born July14, 1942 in Uniontown the son of the late Stephen E.  Kezmarsky SR and Rose Nascimben Kezmarsky.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Rose Smolley and his father in law Theodore Yanowsky.

Steve was raised in Rosedale and was always proud of where he came from. He was a 1960 graduate of Fairchance Georges High School. He was a four year letterman and standout athlete in football and basketball. He attended Youngstown University and then graduated in 1966 from California University . He recieved his MAsters Degree in 1972 from California University and did his post masters work at West Virginia University.

He taught in the Albert Gallatin School District at D. Ferd Swaney and became Principal for AG starting at Friendship Hill and spent time in all 6 elementary schools during his 31 years of education. His family found peace and found it ironic that he passed away on the first day of school.

When his sons were young he was one of the founding fathers of the RW Clark Baseball league. He coached youth athletics for many years.  He was a dedicated fan of the Uniontown Red Raiders. He was always in the stands supporting his grandchildren. Paps always got involved in the game and was never afraid to let the referees know that he was present.

He loved the Pirates and hated the Steelers. He was a New England Patriots fan even if it meant fighting with his own family.

For the past 20 years he helped make the Kezmarsky Funeral Home beautiful. Every inch of the building had his personal touch. He painted and papered, did wood working and any other job whether big or small. He later became what he called the Office Manager. He worked for hours beside his son and never took a dollars pay.  He just loved to help his son and others as well. To say he was a giver would be an understatement.

He is survived by his beloved wife Marycarol Kezmarsky, His step daughter Sarah Honsaker whom he was so proud of. His Loving son and best friend Stephen E. Kezmarsky III and wife Nancy, grandchildren whom he adored Steven A Kezmarsky and Rebecca Johnson, Alexa Lee George and husband Matt, Christian A Kezmarsky , Great Grandchildren whom he loved dearly Kaden Robert Kezmarsky, Alivia Lacey Kezmarsky, Grasyn Elizabeth George, Brynn Alexa George, His son Robert A.
